I knew that change was imminent and necessary, but I can’t believe I actually pulled this off.
I grew up in San Diego, California and spent my entire childhood there. My Favorite part about San Diego was all of the amazing people I met there. Not only was I shaped into the person I am today, but San Diego also played a huge role into my style of photography and art.
Although I absolutely adored San Diego, I didn’t feel enough pressure to grow. It was comfortable and welcoming, which was everything I could ask for at the time, but I thought about moving to Hawaii for a long time and figured that during covid was a perfect opportunity to leave the nest.

After purchasing a one way ticket, my heart sank at the thought of missing everyone I grew up with. Hawaii pulled me in with the opportunity to explore new land and oceans. As I was watching the Maui Womens Pro by RipCurl, I made the decision to choose Maui as my island of choice. Boy am I happy I went with Maui. The reason I love this island so much is because although you feel like you have society and city life around you, you can still escape and feel distant from others. Maui has already given me a new look on life and has been teaching me many lessons. Some lessons I’d prefer to hear rather than learn, but thats just life.
As for my next step on this journey, I have started to work alongside other photographers that do engagements as well as pursue ocean and surf photography. Recently I’ve had the opportunity to work with some models and make new connections with other artists. Maui is starting to feel like home already and I love sharing the new memories with you.
